BCR Asigurari VIG made a profit worth 14.43 million lei (approximately 3.5 million euros), according to the financial reporting of IRPS, informs a company release.BCR Asigurari is ranked fifth in the chart of insurance companies providing general insurance policies.

The insurance portfolio structure witnessed some changes as a consequence of the business line shift. Compared with 2009, the greatest increase in the portfolio structure stood at 40 percent for the general civil liability insurance, followed by the RCA insurance, with a 25 percent increase and by the property insurance, with 6 percent. The optional auto insurance (CASCO) followed the negative trend of the specialized market and of the leasing activity, in the context of the efficiency process implementing for the CASCO portfolio and the introduction of the bonus-malus system.

In 2010 BCR Asigurari VIG implemented an efficiency strategy for the back office activities and damage settlement, as well as a strategy for the improvement of the control process of administrative costs and acquisitions.

Moreover, BCR Asigurari, for the first time on the Romanian insurance market, launched the application of phone assistance, ‘iPhone Insurance Assistance – BCR Asigurari VIG,’ devoted to Smartphone users, with the help of which they can simplify and shorten the process of damage settlement by sending photographs directly to the Damage Centre of BCR Asigurari VIG.
